What is an MMO?
MMO editions started in 1950, when a young New York
musician, Irv Kratka, created the first Music Minus One (MMO)
accompaniment editions for instruments and voice-parts.
Nearly sixty years later and having moved firmly into the
age of digital recordings, each beautifully packaged edition
contains the sheet/print music along with an accompaniment
CD featuring world-class orchestras, ensembles or piano
accompaniment to which you play along. Most MMO albums also
include a beautiful complete-version recording of each work
featuring a virtuoso soloist for your reference and
listening pleasure. MMO editions represent the finest in
accompaniment editions with CD available today, and remain
the “gold standard” by which all others are measured, and
Mr. Kratka is still at the helm! For a more detailed
description of the MMO system, please click here:

What is a CDG?
A CDG (rather than “CD”) indicates
an album that contains a guide vocal track and a track
without vocals (track); but unlike a “CD” album, also
contains on-screen lyrics. Though a CDG disc is completely
compatible with any CD player, in order to view the on-
screen graphics you will need a player capable of decoding
the CDG information and a monitor or television on which to
display them. Many of our MMO opera recordings are available
as CDG albums and include both the printed vocal scores and
the on-screen lyrics. Pocket Songs titles usually include
both a printed lyric-booklet and the on-screen graphics.

What is a JTG?
Offered as part of the
MMO/Pocket
Songs line of karaoke albums, a JTG recording is one that
only contains the background music but with no guide-vocal
version, allowing more room on the CD for more karaoke-style
tracks. JTGs come with on-screen graphics and lyric booklet.
Please note that if an item says only JT, it may contain
neither graphics nor lyric booklet. This is sometimes
necessitated by publisher requirements. The letter “G”
signifies on screen graphics.
